Is the POWER switched on?
Is the MIC LED next to the SELECT switch illuminated?
Is the LEVEL set correctly?
For microphones that require phantom power, is the +48V switch engaged? (If you are unsure whether your microphone requires phantom power, check the user guide for your microphone.)
Is the output fader set correctly?
Is there a fault with your mic/mic cable?
No output when using the LINE INPUT

The FILTERS are not working
Is the ALL EQ switch illuminated? If not, none of the EQ sections will act on the signal.
Are the dials set to act on frequencies that are present in the signal?
Is the FILTER IN switch engaged?
The PARAMETRIC EQ section is not working
Is the ALL EQ switch illuminated? If not, none of the EQ sections will act on the signal.
Is the appropriate bands frequency dial set to act on a frequency that is present in the signal?
Is the PARAM EQ IN switch engaged?
The SHELVING EQ is not working
Is the ALL EQ switch illuminated? If not, none of the EQ sections will act on the signal.
Are the frequency dials set to act on frequencies that are present in the signal?
Is the SHELVING EQ IN switch engaged?
The COMPRESSOR is not working
Is the COMP IN switch engaged?
Is the LEVEL set correctly? If set too low, the signal level may not be high enough to activate the compressor.
Are the COMPRESSION controls set correctly? If threshold is too high, the input may not reach the level at which compression starts. (See ENGINEERING HINTS.)
The DE-ESSER is not working
Is the DE-ESS IN switch engaged?
Is the LEVEL set correctly? If set too low, the signal level may not be high enough to activate the de-esser.
Is the frequency dial set to act on frequencies that are present in the signal? This can be checked by activating the DE-ESS LISTEN switch.
No word clock lock
Is your external
word clock source transmitting
word clock?
Is the sample frequency set to match that of the
word clock-transmitting device?
Is an external
word clock cable needed and, if so, is it connected? (See clocking regulations in the GENERIC SETUP)
Is the external
word clock cable connected to the
superclock BNC connector?
No output from the digital output option
Is the sample frequency set correctly?
Is the receiving device set to receive the correct resolution (16-, 20- or 24-bit)?
Is the receiving device set to external sync? (See DIGITAL in GENERIC SETUP)
Does the receiving device require a Consumer format signal?
Has the A/D card been initialised? If not, simply hold down any front panel switch whilst powering the unit up.
