What steps do I need to take to link two Liquid Channels?

To link two Liquid Channels follow these steps:

1) Connect the 'digital link bus' out of the LC you wish to use as master to the 'digital link bus' in of the slave LC.

2) Connect the 'digital link bus' out of the slave LC to the 'digital link bus' in of the master LC.

3) Set the 'Digital Link Bus (Gain Linkage)' to 2 machines on both LCs. To do this press the setup button and press the Data knob until you see the 'Digital Link Bus (Gain Linkage)' menu (this is the third menu). Rotate the Data knob to scroll through the settings (until it says '2 machines') and press it once again to go to the next menu and save your settings.

4) Set the Gain Linkage option to 'machine 1 (master)' on the master LC and to 'machine 2 (slave)' on the slave LC. This is the fourth menu, accessed as in step 3), and the options are selected in the same way. The slave machine will bring up an extra menu - 'Slave controls to master'. For most of the time you will want to select 'Yes' but there may be times when you wish to control them separately.

5) Select the inputs and outputs. For the case when you have an analogue in to each LC and will be using the AES out of the Master. In the 'AES Linking' menu select 'Link AES - right: from slave' on the master LC and 'Link to master AES - right: output' on the slave LC. It is possible to connect a stereo AES signal to the master unit and use both LCs to process the left and right signals respectively and then use a single AES out connection from the master LC. To do this select 'Link AES - right: to and from slave' on the Master LC and select 'Link to master AES - right: in and out' on the slave LC.

6) If you are using the Liquid Control software then in the last setup menu set the USB ID of the master LC to 1 and the USB ID of the slave LC to 2.
