Dream team: Amp Fiddler and his Liquid Saffire 56

Funk & Soul legend on the ultimate project studio upgrade

Amp Fiddler, accomplished singer-songwriter and long-time keyboard player for seminal funk groups Parliament & Funkadelic, has recently upgraded his studio with the Liquid Saffire 56, the flagship in the Focusrite audio interface range.

After growing increasingly dissatisfied with the quality of the recordings made using his old system, he opted for the Liquid Saffire 56 in order to give him more clarity in his recordings and a general sonic improvement throughout his studio.
“The key is all these Telefunken, Neve and other great mic pres that you normally look for in hardware are built right into the unit. And you've got all the inputs and outputs that you could dream of.”

For Amp, the Liquid Saffire provides upgrades in two key areas: preamps and I/O count. "What's really cool for me is the emulations. It's got all these really old school preamps built-in that you can use to make your microphones sound beautiful. It's got 28 inputs and outputs, so I can actually do more than I did before with my other hardware."

Summing up the device, Amp hits the nail on the head: "The key is all these Telefunken, Neve and other great mic pres that you normally look for in hardware are built right into the unit. And you've got all the inputs and outputs that you could dream of."
