We are looking for an experienced hardware developer to join our small design team, to work on a variety of projects.

Reporting directly to the R&D Manager, you'll help to specify, design and implement new products.  You'll evaluate new technologies, implement and refine those we currently use, and release exciting new products for both brands.

Any candidate must have:

• At least ten years experience in a commercial electronics design and development environment
• Proven experience in the design of analogue, digital and mixed systems - ideally from an audio background, but other mixed signal environments (such as instrumentation) will be equally considered
• Expertise in implementing high performance analogue to digital and digital to analogue conversion sub-systems
• Familiarity with designing digitally controlled analogue systems
• Experience in regulatory (EMC) testing


Experience in any of these would be a bonus:

• Cadstar schematic capture and PCB layout
• Familiarity with Xilinx FPGAs
• Design for manufacture techniques
• Writing either Mac and/or Windows host applications (for test purposes)
• Use of audio test equipment (Prism dScope) and writing of test procedures
• Development and implementation of DSP algorithms

In this position you will help support Focusrite to manage its growing product portfolio managing the entry to exit lifecycle issues of selected products within the Focusrite product portfolio to achieve the goals and objectives set out by senior management.

Job Profile

The role:
As a Technical Support Engineer, the applicant will be responsible for helping to maintain the high level of customer service we provide. They will work as part of a cross-functional team answering pre and post sales customer enquiries by phone and email, mainly focusing on the Novation product range.

Core responsibilities:
• Act as focal point for pre/post sales and technical enquiries via phone and email relating to the Novation product lines.
• Provide support for Focusrite products via phone and email as and when required.
• Prepare for release, upload and maintain technical aspects of Focusrite and Novation websites.
• Work closely alongside worldwide support team members providing assistance where necessary.

Abilities, skills and experience required:

• Knowledge of MIDI control, audio interfaces, home/studio recording setups and music production

• A polite and helpful phone manner
