Liquid Mix provides reliable emulation of a wide range of vintage and classic units. It does this by emulating their sonic behaviour using sintefex's patented Dynamic Convolution; the application of a unique, level-dependant set of responses to an audio signal.

DYNAMIC CONVOLUTION is a trademark of Sintefex Ltd. All other product names, trademarks, or trade names are the names of their respective owners, which are in no way associated, connected nor affiliated with Focusrite or its LIQUID MIX product and which have not endorsed Focusrite's LIQUID MIX product. These other product names, trademarks, and trade names are used solely to identify and describe the third party products the sonic behaviour of which was studied for the LIQUID MIX product, and to accurately describe the functionality of the Liquid Mix product. The Liquid Mix product is an independently engineered technology which utilises the patented process of Dynamic Convolution to actually measure examples of the sonic impact of original analogue products upon an audio stream, so as to electronically emulate the performance of the original product studied. The result of this process is subjective and may not be perceived by a user as producing the same effects as the original products studied.
Liquid Mix uses the same patented Dynamic Convolution process as Focusrite’s Liquid Channel. Unlike standard convolution techniques, Dynamic Convolution utilizes vast processing power to sample the effect of a classic processor on a series of audio pulses, at many different gain settings and frequencies. In Liquid Mix, all this processing is done using onboard DSP, so the processing has almost no effect on your computer’s own CPU.
Liquid Mix’s DSP is housed within an elegant desktop control solution and connects to the computer via Firewire, which also provides bus-powering. The physical metering, screen, rotary controls and buttons on the hardware help to provide a tactile ergonomic solution, placing the sounds of an array of high quality vintage processors at your fingertips. You can choose to control each channel either from the desktop control unit, or from within the sequencer, using a simple GUI that functions exactly like a plug-in. "I cannot believe the level of quality that this unit offers at such an affordable price. For engineers like myself who desire racks of analogue hardware but lack the stacks of cash to afford, the Liquid Mix is a dream."

"I've been using the Liquid Mix on new tracks for my band Cosmic Rough Riders' 8th studio album, which I'm tracking and mixing partly at home. As you can imagine the Liquid Mix has been nothing short of a god send, and I'm honestly so happy that I chose this unit over any of it's competitors. The only way I find my mixes can stand beside those done in a great studio are by using Liquid Mix, using a purely native approach in the past has yielded a less than satisfactory work flow and final result.
It is a truly ingenious box that occupies a massive gap in the market, and a technology I'm sure that is still largely untapped."

"I have been waiting with anticipation for the Liquid Mix along with half the population of the Earth & was not disappointed!
As a long term Liquid Channel user I am was already sold on how well convolution technology can deliver in areas other than reverb.
It took me 5 minutes to Install & within an hour I was mastering an album for an up & coming new band called Oversol with fantastic results.

“We're pleased to be able to report that the Liquid Mix really can handle as many channels as it's supposed to and that you can indeed apply compression and EQ to them all.”
“Liquid Mix does have some latency, but it isn't as noticeable as on some similar devices, and you can happily play patterns and riffs over your project with it engaged”
“...with Liquid Mix, you have all the controls you need right out of the box. What's more, they're incredibly clear and well-presented; as well as a panel of knobs, you get dedicated buttons and even an LCD display.”
“But of the most important feature of the Liquid Mix - its sound? Well, to say it's sublime is no overstatement.”
“rest assured that the gear that inspired these models is legendary. In turn, the Liquid Mix offers a depth, warmth and level of character that's unrivaled in all but the finest and most expensive plug-ins. These aren't the kind of workhorse compressors and EQs that you strap over every channel - they're the ones you reach for to give your signals that special something. or to add a touch of professional class.”

“I would easily expect a product that claims to do what the Liquid Mix does to cost three times as much”
“The Liquid Mix control surface is robust and very well made.”
“I went straight for the Neve and Fairchild comps for Linda?s vocal and was instantly impressed with the instant tone/color change and classic character I would expect.”
“Whether in audio post, pro recording facilities or the bedroom project studio, mixing 'in the box' has just gained a mighty set of wonderful sounding high-end vintage tool.”

“The Liquid Mix sounds great. In fact, it sounds awesome.”
“I also love the control surface. It's really well built, has solid construction and a nice small footprint on my desk.”
“I love the Liquid Mix for mastering. I can add the plug-in, then sit back, listen, focus and adjust settings with the controller in my lap.”
“Its honestly a fantastic product.”

“After a surprisingly short time the remote starts to disappear into the background - you'll find yourself reaching for it and making changes without the slight feeling of permanent distraction associated with editing settings on screen with a mouse.”
“Sonically, Liquid Mix offers an impressive selection of emulated effects. Even though the functionality is limited to EQ and compression, it feels like a product that has been designed for studio engineers, rather than bedroom part-timers.”
“There's something for everyone here, from grainy bright transistor effects to beefy 'valvification'. The plug-ins have a distinctive precision and body which is sweet without being thin.”
“As one of the more affordable options, there's a great deal to like about Liquid Mix. It's not a bedroom studio magic fairy dust machine, and it needs experienced ears to get the very best from it. But it feels and sounds like a professional tool - a remarkable achievement given the inclusion of a remote and the low price.”
