Join Focusrite, alongside Prism Sound, SADiE, JAMES, ATC and SE Electronics, for the first in the Mic to Master series of weekend seminars and masterclasses. The first course takes place at Deep Blue Sound in Plymouth, and will run for two days starting on May 7th 2010. Featuring guest lecturers Tony Platt, Al Stone, Simon Heyworth and Alan O'Connell, attendees will be able to learn from the presenters' wealth of experience in the professional recording industry. Alongside these keynote speakers, several talks will be delivered by other prominent figures in the music recording industry.

Among these, Focusrite R&D Engineer Ben Supper will present, informally, some observations learned from several years' experience of analysing and deceiving the spatial parts of the human auditory system. He will discuss how we perceive spatial cues present in direct sound and reverberation that are central to Focusrite's Virtual Reference Monitoring (VRM) technology and other auralisation systems, and effective ways of reproducing a sound field without damaging the sound quality of source material or causing listening fatigue.
