Audrye Sessions and the Saffire Pro 40

Oakland-based band Audrye Sessions are Alicia, Ryan, Michael and James. They are working on their second album, having spent two years on the road touring in the USA. Although they record in professional studios for main album tracking, they regularly use their own facility to make recordings of rehearsals, so they can review their performance and ready themselves for the studio.

At the heart of their recording system is a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, which gives the band eight Focusrite preamps and the option to expand their I/O to a maximum of 18-in, 18-out. James Leste, drummer-cum-recording engineer for the band comments "it has great preamps, the Mix Control software is really easy to use, and the functionality of the unit is great, so
we like it on an off the road."

Audrye Sessions http://www.myspace.com/audryesessions Meet the Oakland quartet Audrye Sessions. Their self-titled debut on Black Seal is packed with polished, propulsive rock songs and gentle, stripped-down tunes with the kind of ear-grabbing melodies that instantly hard-wire themselves into your brain. Recorded with Andrew Scheps (U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Johnny Cash) and Matt Radosevich (The Hives, Taking Back Sunday), the album is anchored by Ryan Karazija's remarkable voice, which is whisper vulnerable on minute, rolling with emotion the next.
